Answering the Call: A Client’s Journey from Corporate Frustration to Entrepreneurial Freedom

In 2021, I began working with a client who, on the surface, seemed to have it all together—thriving in her corporate finance role. But deep down, she was unhappy. She had a dream of starting her own business but didn’t know what that business would be or where to even begin. So she stayed, growing more frustrated and unfulfilled as the months passed, asking herself repeatedly, “What am I doing here?”

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆, 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽—transferring to a product team, taking a lower title just to learn what it’s like to build something from scratch. It was a difficult choice, but her heart was guiding her toward something new.

A year later, she made the leap—she quit. After three intense months of brainstorming business ideas, she found "the one." Now, with a cofounder by her side, she’s landed her first client. 🌟

“It’s not a lot,” she told me, “but I finally understand the value of getting paid to do something I truly believe in. You probably always knew I’d start my own business, right? I just wish I had done it sooner.”

𝗬𝗲𝘀, 𝗜 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 "𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹." 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗳 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗽.

We can’t fast-forward through our journey. We need experiences, and sometimes even a bit of pain, before we’re ready to take the leap. To move forward, not follow the status quo, requires braving the wilderness. It's about navigating discomfort and uncertainty until we’re prepared to embrace the change our heart has been asking for all along.

There’s always a moment when progress feels invisible, and the temptation to return to familiarity is strong. But eventually, the unbeaten path beckons, and when you answer that call, it feels like coming home to yourself. It tastes like sweet freedom.

So, what’s calling you? Are you ready to answer? 💫

The familiar horizon has been outgrown; the old concepts, ideals, and emotional patterns no longer fit; the time for passing the threshold is at hand.”
