EMPOWERING VS. DISEMPOWERING LANGUAGE
Let's be honest. We ALL start in column A and make our way to column B over time.
Like all good things, it's so painfully simple to see how much more effective is to operate from a place of empowerment. And, when we're at our best, we absolutely do.
The problem is, when things get critical, our nervous system reacts, and since we have to make quick decisions, our instincts, our energy, take over.
The language we use comes from the way we perceive ourselves and the situation.
If we instinctively operate from a place of low power, we transfer responsibility ("I have no power, I don't have choices").
Disempowering language is reactive, it comes from a place of feeling not in control, and victimized.
It often is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Empowering language is thoughtful, intentional, it comes from a place of decisiveness, of self-mastery.
Using empowering language comes from embodying empowering mindsets. It's an important, outer component of EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION.
If you want to learn more, I am launching a Leadership Accelerator that goes deep into how to truly embody empowering mindsets and how to communicate effectively.
Registration is now open through April 8th!
