SUCCESS IS A JAGGED LINE

In most stories, from different literary genres to corporate sectors, success is a jagged line. We experience progress in a line that is not directly up. True progress often has a way of taking down turns before taking upward turns. Why? Because to grow we need to acknowledge the full story, which includes giving our attention to what’s not working and of course to what actually is working. Once we acknowledge what’s painful and what’s breathing life into us, and we decide to take the courageous path of claiming a better quality life, we see true progress taking root over time. Truth, patience, self-awareness, resilience, are key ingredients. Like any muscles, each of these ingredients take sustained practice even in the face of what might temporarily seem like failures.
