What’s something you can’t do but wish you could do?
When I was younger I stayed away from self help anything - books, videos, you name it. One advice I would give my younger self is to pay attention to positive messages and let go of the fear that such things would make me look uncool. Honestly. I would have had just as many good friends. I would have probably been even more “cool” if I embraced all sides of myself back then.
Here is a powerful story about a guy who one day somehow stopped accepting that there is no hope for him. He somehow found the interest to research and kept looking until he found a video about power yoga and after months of practice he literally changed his body, and regained his ability to walk (by the way here is the site he used https://ddpyoga.com). Every time I see or hear such stories I experience true exhilaration because I know there are lots more stories where this one came from. If you guys come across stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things please send them my way!
This story illustrates an important point I’ve learned this year, pondered about, and talked about in my workshops - that Happiness is about action first. Psychology research studies show that when we repeatedly do certain actions even if we don’t believe they will make a difference, we eventually start changing our self-perceptions and our opinion of who we are. Our actions change what we believe we’re capable of and begin to prove to ourselves that we indeed can be the kind of person we wish we were.
Happy holidays my friends, and may hope and happiness be with you! Xoxo
