RETHINK YOUR GOALS. VIEW THEM AS EASY, ACCESSIBLE

It's Monday, and it's a great day to set our intentions for the week. What do you wish to create this week? What can you do this week to take steady steps in the direction you wish to go? What thoughts and actions can support you on your goal? What barriers and negative thoughts lay in your way that you can let go of, and move past by?

My friend K, who wrote her first book while raising small kids and a full time job, and who is now an accomplished writer with a film deal for her most recent books, told me something that stuck with me. "I learned to stop thinking about the things I wanted as being hard. As I matured, I learned to rethink the act of writing as being no more difficult than brushing teeth. I made a point to view it as accessible, as being easy."

I have many things I need to do today and this week, and writing is not only difficult, but is also waaay down on my list of urgent things I need to do. But I know that writing makes me happy, and gives me an immense wave of satisfaction. That satisfaction gives me a significant boost to both my overall happiness and energy. That energy helps me be more efficient in all the things I do, and allows me to be more mindful and more focused on other aspects of my life. It makes me feel more connected, and more optimistic that I can do anything I set my mind to and I truly desire.

Us moms, tend to put much thought and devotion in raising our kids and family, and there is often little energy left to tend to ourselves. Meanwhile, our heart continues to brew new creative ideas, hopes and wishes. By taking the time to listen in, to turn our awareness inward, and by taking action on those ideas, we inspire our kids. We give them a sense of hope and courage. We set an example that each of us matter, and that we can not only hope, but accomplish the things that are dear and near to our heart.

Go get them! Listen to your creative muse! Happy Monday
